The PCR test is performed by taking samples called swabs from the mouth and nose with a thin cotton swab. If this test is performed for the diagnosis of coronavirus disease, it would be more accurate to take samples from the mouth and nose in the early period. However, since there may be no virus left in these areas in the late period of the disease, the test performed by taking a swab from the mouth and nose may not give accurate results. For this reason, it is more accurate to take samples from the respiratory tract in the future.
